Read Time: 3 Minutes
Many entrepreneurs struggle with the assumed enormity of setting up their systems. I won’t lie; it seems like a really daunting task.
I recently had a client say, “while it seems like this is going to be an exhausting project, having an “outsider looking in” approach actually makes the process so much easier.”
That’s why I love what I do. When I look at a business’s systems, I see parts. I see a puzzle. It’s my job to solve it, and I LOVE a good challenge!
But, You may not love puzzles… much less have the time for them, and that’s okay. So today, I’m going to give you a brief rundown of what you need to know to refresh those stale systems and bring in some new life.
Systems are not a one-and-done solution. Instead, they must change and grow with you and your business. And though boiling what I do down to five steps is a bit difficult, I will do my best. 😊
5 QUICK STEPS TO REFRESH YOUR SYSTEMS
Weekly High Five
1
Choose Wisely
Look at your business systems: What is working, and what isn’t? Is there anything you tend to neglect? Which system is in dire need of some attention? Start there! Don’t try to do all six at once; you will only get overwhelmed.
2
Audit Thoroughly
Take a deep and thoughtful look at your chosen system. Do you feel like you are wasting time? Could you automate anything? Could you create a template for any emails or graphics? Are there any unnecessary steps you could remove that add no actual value?
3
Make Improvements
Now that you have the data: let’s get results. Delete unnecessary tasks that don’t move the needle. Automate the jobs that don’t need a personal touch. Delegate the tasks that don’t need your unique expertise and create templates for the tasks that do.
4
Refine and Simplify
Take out anything unnecessary. Refine it to maximize your efforts and make it more efficient. Implement any automation or templates. Fine-tune it to meet your needs.
